"Les Sapins" is a typical, red-roofed, Auvergnat farmhouse constructed, circ1840, in local stone and 'pisé', a technique used in this region to provide a cool haven in summer and cosy rooms in winter. The house stands in 2.5 acres of land on the edge of the small village of Le Monteix' - just 8 minutes from the mediaeval market town of Ambert Our region, the Auvergne, is said to be "on the side of the rising sun". It's not surprising therefore that "Les Sapins" is south facing, to take advantage of this. What makes it unique however, are the fabulous views over the hills and valleys of the Livradois-Forez and the panorama of Ambert, in the distance. |

Food is an important part of any holiday. A three course dinner is served each evening and menus have a local influence. Complimentary wine is served with dinner. "Les Sapins" is not licenced but you are welcome to enjoy your own alcoholic purchases if you wish and we always have a good supply of mixers for your convenience. We are happy to cater for Vegetarians if notified in advance. |
| Your hosts are Helen and Ian. This is very much a family business and they are pleased to offer you a warm welcome and personal attention during your stay. They are dedicated to ensuring you enjoy your stay at "Les Sapins". Every care has been taken to maintain the ambience, which is so wonderfully French, provide modern facilities for your comfort and give you first class catering. No need to worry about the language either, their first language is English. If you need any help when French is required they are always on hand to assist. |  |

think we are situated in one of the most beautiful regions of Europe, but you
